Brome Hay
Brome Hay is companion grass hay that is nutritionally similar to Western Timothy. Although it is not as green, your herbivore will love its cured taste and smell.
Brome hay is grass hay that is high in fiber, low in protein, and low in calcium all of which helps keep the gastrointestinal tract of all small herbivores functioning properly. A high-fiber diet will also lower the incidence of soft stools, intestinal gas and bloating.
Brome hay looks a lot like western timothy hay, but has a wider blade. It has a different flavor that will add variety to an animal's diet. Many have compared it to a rich cured smell. Brome grass is a perennial that is grown in Eastern Europe, Russia and Canada as well as the north-central part of the United States.
Oxbow's Brome Hay, much like other grass hay, is high in fiber and low in protein. It can be mixed with other grass hays when you feed your pet. Animals seem to like the variety. Mixing your grasses will encourage them to eat more hay, which is always beneficial to the health of the pet.
